Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 August 2026

This policy describes what happens to your information on elenx.ai, the ElenX public website. It is written to describe this site specifically, so where it says we do not do something, we do not do it.

The ElenX product at app.elenx.ai handles a different and larger set of information, including the content of your investigations. This policy does not cover it, and nothing here should be read as describing it. A separate policy for the product is being prepared.

ElenX is operated by Elenchus Insights Syndicate, a Delaware corporation. For anything in this policy, write to [email protected].

What we collect

Only what you type into one of two forms, and only when you submit it. Those forms are the access request, reached from the "Request access" button, and the newsletter subscription at the end of an article. Both record the same small set:

  • Your email address.
  • The date and time you submitted.
  • Which of the two forms you used first. If you later use the other one, this keeps its original value.
  • Whether you asked for access, and if so, the date and time you asked.
  • Whether you asked for the newsletter, and if so, the date and time you asked, plus a random token used to build your one-click unsubscribe link.

The two are independent. Requesting access does not subscribe you, subscribing does not put you in the queue for an invitation, and doing one later never withdraws the other — only the unsubscribe link does that.

That is the complete list. We do not ask for your name, employer, or role, and we do not build a profile of you.

Visitor measurement

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they reach. It is deliberately a privacy-preserving one: it sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, does not follow you to other websites, and does not build a profile of you. There is no way for us to single you out in it.

What it records is the page address, the site that referred you, coarse details derived from the request your browser already sends — browser, operating system, device type, and country — and how quickly the page rendered. All of it is reported to us as totals.

The measurement script is served from cloudflareinsights.com, which is Cloudflare. Because Cloudflare already delivers this site, this does not introduce another company to your visit.

What we do not collect

No advertising, no ad or tracking pixels, no cross-site tracking, and no third-party marketing or social scripts. Our own code sets no cookies. Typefaces are served from this domain rather than fetched from a font provider, so rendering the page does not report your visit to anyone else.

Your light or dark theme preference is kept in your browser's local storage. It stays on your device and is never sent to us.

Who processes it, and where

  • Cloudflare hosts this site, stores the access-request database, and provides the visitor measurement described above. As part of delivering and protecting any website, Cloudflare processes network requests, which involves your IP address, and may set its own security cookies to distinguish people from bots. The database is located in the United States.
  • SMTP2GO, which delivers the email we send you. It receives your address in order to deliver a message to it — an invitation now, and the newsletter once that begins.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.

Why we are allowed to hold it

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area: we rely on your consent for the newsletter, which is why the checkbox is separate, starts unticked, and is recorded with the time you ticked it. For the access request itself, we rely on taking steps at your request before any relationship begins.

How long we keep it

Access requests are kept while the invitation programme is running. Newsletter records are kept until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only what is needed to avoid emailing you again by mistake. You can ask us to delete your information at any point, and we will.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from any newsletter email using the link it contains, and that takes effect immediately. You can also email us to see what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw a consent you gave earlier. Withdrawing consent does not undo anything done before you withdrew it.

Depending on where you live you may have further rights, including complaining to a data protection authority.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant and we hold your email address, we will tell you.
